Pronounced [Kamredeen]

Meaning: A type of dried fruits made with Peaches, with their pits removed: they are then pressed together sugared, and rolled into sheets. Originally from Syria, but spread to Iraq through the trade-routes passing from Aleppo to Northern Iraq. It is very popular with people of all kinds and ages in Iraq (provided they have teeth strong enough for chewing) the taste varies according to where they were manufactured, some are overtly sweet, some have a hint of sourness in them, and some in between. That said, all variations taste great!
