فدوة اروحلك

Pronounced [FIDWA AROOHLAK]

Meaning: very similar to صدقة لالله‎, this sentence can be used as a flirting remark, or as a playful remark for babies. It also has a sarcastic meaning which is used toward someone bragging or trying to impress. the two words included here are interchangeable, فدوة اروحلك (Fidwa Aroohlak) is also frequently expressed as اروحلك فدوة (Aroohlak Fidwa). the second term is slightly more popular due to its ability to accept more suffixes, some continue the meaning and build on it, while others are just plain funny. the origin of this sentence is from classical Arabic, Arooh means "I go" and Fidwa is from Fidya, which is "offering/sacrifice". this sentence is thus translated into "I sacrifice myself for you". note that the ك letter is at times omitted to allow an implicit reference (e.g. I sacrifice myself to the one who made you -a clear reference to God- )
