الزمان
Pronounced [Azzaman]
A popular Iraqi daily newspaper, published in Baghdad and Basrah, with a widely international edition printed in London. Editor In Chief is Saad Al Bazzaz, an Iraqi writer who was a former director-general in the Ministry of Information and an editor of Al-Jumhouriya newspaper under Saddam Hussein.
Azzaman is widely read in Iraq and most people consider it an objective and trustworthy source, while its detractors consider it a Ba'athist mouthpiece.
Azzaman (Al-Zaman) means 'times' in Arabic.
