Pronounced [TASHREEB]

An Iraqi dish made of shredded pieces of Iraqi bread (khubz) soaked in a sauce. It is usually served with broth, meat, tomato sauce, dried lime (noumi basrah) and chickpeas. Other variations are tishreeb abyadh, which is the same but without the tomato sauce, or tishreeb bamia (okra), tishreeb lubiya (beans) and tishreeb bagila (fava beans).
