تاتا امانة

Pronounced [TATA AMANA]

Meaning: TATA is an bus-manufacturing company based in India, the former Iraqi government had long-term contracts with TATA to supply the Iraqi Department of Transportation with buses, and since the buses themselves carried the TATA logo, it became known by this name. The word AMANA is short for "AMANAT EL A'ASIMA, roughtly: City Administration" which was the organization responsible for running the public transportation service before the Department of Transportation. the buses got their name from here.
