بوري
Pronounced [BOORI]
تستعمل للأشارة الى نكبة أو مصيبة تحل بشخص, مثلآ "أكل فلان بوري".
Used when something guaranteed to be done gets suddenly canceled, or if something bad befalls an unlucky person.
An example is the U.S. promise to make Iraq a democratic state. We can say it is a Boori from the U.S.
Literal meaning is faucet or water pipe.
Boori / بوري is thought to be a word of Babylonian orign (in Akkdadian: buru). Its Arabic equivalent would be Bi'ir بـئر . It meant (like the Arabic equivalent) well but this meaning changed with the appearance of faucets in Iraq.
