Pronounced [Aghati]

كلمة تستعمل لتدليل أو احترام الشخص المقابل. مشتقة من كلمة أغا التركية, وهي لقب احترام.

It's a Baghdadi/Iraqi expression that is used as a greeting between two men, usually in a coffee shop while sitting or before the persons name for respect. Its origin is from the Turkish title Agha, and is literally translated as "my Agha."

Example: تفضل اغاتي | Tfathal Aghati = Please have a seat, my dear
